Top 50 Game Of Thrones Trivia Questions And Answers

Winter is coming!

Are you a die-hard Game of Thrones fan? Have you seen all 70+ episodes across all eight seasons? Do you remember epic quotes like “When you play the game of thrones, you win, or you die. There is no middle ground.”, or, “That’s what I do. I drink, and I know things.”? Do you know the difference between White Walkers and Wildlings, or The Hound’s real name?

The Game of Thrones series, based on novels by George R.R. Martin, debuted on HBO in April 2011. This in-depth world and character building show tells the story of a civil war in a medieval fantasy land – mainly the two primary continents of Westeros and Essos. As the first season kick-off, a long summer is coming to an end, winter approaching. Characters are battling to claim the seat on the Iron Throne, the position of power over the Seven Kingdoms in the city of King’s Landing.

There are three main storylines throughout the series.

First, we follow the journey of several great houses, all fighting to rule Westeros. There’s Lord Eddark Stark as the Warden of the North and Lord of Winterfell, tasked with protecting lands of the north from Wildings. In the first season, we follow House Stark as they move south to King’s Landing after Eddark becomes The Hand to King Robert. Then there’s House Lannister and Baratheon, the ruling houses, with King Robert Baratheon married to Queen Cersei Lannister. In the first few episodes, we discover their children were actually fathered by Cersei’s twin brother Jamie Lannister. To keep this a secret, Cersei and Jamie plot to kill the King. Eventually, their firstborn son Joffrey takes the crown.

The second storyline involves Daenerys Targaryen (or Dany), the last remaining and exiled member of House Targaryen. As the daughter of former King Aerys II Targaryen, Daenerys is determined to regain her house’s seat of power any way she can. Over most of season one, she’s busy gaining support in Essos, eventually building an army to help her invade the Seven Kingdoms to the west.

The third main storyline involves mysterious events happening beyond The Wall. We follow the Night’s Watch, a group of ragtag soldiers tasked with defending the 300-mile barrier from the evil White Walkers who are preparing to invade southward.
